Day One, ... sorta
So let’s make it an easy on. This past Sunday, May 27, 2018 was the first day of a walking challenge at my workplace. They do it every year, and about I dunno, a month ago I really wanted to do more walking. I need to lose some weight and I need to take better care of myself. It’s all about good maintenance.
In an effort to prepare myself / get the ball rolling me and the fiancé got new pedometers
Garmin VivoFit 2 for me, and a VivoFit 3 for her. Nifty little app that comes with it gives you a goal and increases it little by little every day you hit that goal. We’ve had these for almost 2 full weeks before Sunday, and we’ve hit the ground running ... well not yet, but we’re definately walking.
This blog is going to act like a chronicle of sorts for the 3 months that the walking challenge is going to take place.
Rules are simple.
First Month is 5000 steps per day.
Second Month is 7500 steps per day.
The Third and Final month is 10,000 6 days of the week.
You only get “off days” in the third month.
In addition to the walking challenge, I’ve also changed how I eat. It’s called volumetrics and I plan on doing several more posts related to it in the future. Basically you eat more veggies and less fat. So simple even I won’t get confused, I hope.
When this all started, about 2 weeks ago ( I mean the walking and dieting) I was 375 lbs. it’s a lot, it’s a number you’ll hopefully get to watch go down as the posts and days tick by.
My health is only one aspect of what I want this blog to become. Video game development, carpentry, survival, bread recipes and cooking, there’s a lot on the way.
